Protecting What We Love.
Building What We Need.
Campbell River is growing, and the decisions we make today will shape what our community looks and feels like for decades to come. I believe we can welcome new housing, jobs and investment while protecting our natural spaces, strengthening our neighbourhoods and maintaining the quality of life that makes people want to call Campbell River home.
As a councillor, I plan to bring an open mind to the table. I will listen to residents, City staff, businesses, First Nations and community organizations.
Affordability & Housing
I am committed to ensuring Campbell River remains a community where every generation can find a place to call home.
• Expand housing diversity through townhomes, secondary suites, and gentle density.
• Prioritize attainable options for first-time buyers, families, and seniors.
• Integrate new developments with essential infrastructure, parks, and schools.
• Focus on livable neighborhoods that maintain our unique local character.
Protecting Our Green Spaces
Preserving Campbell River’s natural landscape is essential for maintaining our city's identity as we continue to grow.
• Prioritize the protection of wetlands, urban forests, and essential wildlife corridors
• Safeguard vital salmon habitats and local ecosystems like Simms Creek
• Explore sustainable parking alternatives to prevent the loss of Pinecrest Park
• Support responsible growth that balances infrastructure needs with ecological health
Transparency & Public Voice
Civic governance must be transparent and inclusive so every resident can participate in shaping the future of Campbell River.
• Ensure earlier and more accessible public notice for all upcoming City decisions
• Simplify municipal information so it is easy to find without digging through complex reports
• Reinstate citizen advisory committees to bring local expertise and lived experience to the table
• Leverage modern technology to improve digital communication between Council and the community
• Foster meaningful engagement at the beginning of the planning process rather than the end
Collaboration & Community
Effective local government relies on our ability to bridge differences and work together toward common goals.
• Enhance vital partnerships with First Nations and adjacent local governments
• Support the diverse network of non-profits and community volunteers
• Foster a solution-oriented Council culture that avoids political division
• Pursue intergovernmental resources and funding through proactive collaboration
